One of my goals during the pandemic was to create a 1:1 CAD model of the Porsche AG 911 992 and carry out a CFD simulation. I particularly wanted to see how close I could get to the real values of the drag and lift coefficients of the real vehicle.
I was surprised by how easily lift is generated on a car that lacks any aerodynamic features (spoilers, splitters…). I shall improve my model by adding a rear spoiler and wing mirrors, removing engine intakes and smoothing out the A-pillar to get closer to the real lift and drag coefficient values.
